My TiviMate EPG has suddenly stopped loading. It shows empty channel slots with no programme information. The channels themselves still play fine. I have not changed any settings. What should I check?

EPG loading failure in TiviMate is usually one of four things:\n\n1. The EPG URL has changed or expired\n2. A network/DNS issue is preventing the EPG server from being reached\n3. The EPG file itself has errors (common with third-party XMLTV files)\n4. TiviMate's EPG cache has become corrupted\n\nStart with the simplest fix: Settings → Playlists → your playlist → Update → tap "Update EPG". If it downloads without error but still shows empty, the EPG source has a problem. If it errors on download, it is a network or URL issue.

The most common cause in my experience is the EPG URL changing. Providers occasionally update their infrastructure and the old URL stops working. Contact your provider and ask them to confirm the current EPG URL. Do not post the URL publicly here — send it via private message or their support channel.

Before contacting your provider, test whether it is a TiviMate-specific issue: try opening the EPG URL in a browser on the same device. If it loads in the browser, TiviMate can reach it. If not, it is either a network issue or the URL itself is broken.

UK user — my EPG disappeared after my router updated its firmware overnight. The new firmware had DNS filtering enabled by default that was blocking the EPG server. Changed router DNS to 1.1.1.1 and EPG immediately loaded on the next refresh.

Cache corruption fix: go to Settings → About → Clear cache. Then restart TiviMate and allow the EPG to reload from scratch. This takes a few minutes but resolves corrupted EPG databases which happen occasionally after app updates.

Also check that the time zone is correct on your Android device. TiviMate uses device time to align EPG data. If your Android box has the wrong time zone set (e.g., showing UTC when you are in BST/GMT+1), EPG entries will appear shifted by one hour, or EPG matching to channels will fail entirely.

Time zone mismatch causing EPG issues is very common, especially on Android TV boxes that default to UTC and have no automatic time zone detection.

Ireland — one more cause: TiviMate Premium subscription lapsed. TiviMate itself continues to work without Premium but the more advanced EPG features require an active Companion subscription. If your Premium expired, some EPG functions revert to limited mode. Check your TiviMate Companion subscription status in the app settings.

If all else fails: delete the playlist and re-add it from scratch with fresh credentials from your provider. This clears everything and starts clean, which resolves most EPG issues that persist after the above steps.
