Hearing more about Televizo as an alternative to TiviMate. Can someone explain what Televizo offers and how it compares to TiviMate for someone currently happy with TiviMate but curious about alternatives?

Televizo is a relatively newer IPTV player that has been gaining a following among Android TV users. Here is the comparison:\n\n**Televizo strengths:**\n• Free to use with no subscription required for core features (TiviMate requires a Companion subscription for advanced features)\n• Clean, modern interface that works well on large TV screens\n• Good 4K HDR playback performance\n• Available on Google Play on Android TV devices without sideloading\n• Supports multiple playlists from one interface

**TiviMate strengths:**\n• Significantly better EPG system — the grid EPG is best in class\n• Superior catch-up integration\n• More granular buffer and performance settings\n• Larger community with more troubleshooting resources\n• More mature and battle-tested codebase

UK user — I tested Televizo for two weeks as a potential TiviMate replacement. The interface is noticeably cleaner and more modern than TiviMate. The free tier is genuinely useful without needing to pay. However, the EPG and catch-up are not at TiviMate's level. I kept TiviMate as my primary and use Televizo as a backup.

Ireland — Televizo's biggest practical advantage for Firestick and some Android TV boxes: it is available directly from the Google Play Store on devices that have it. No sideloading. For users who are not comfortable with APK sideloading, this is a significant convenience.

The no-sideloading point is meaningful for certain devices. On Amazon Fire TV, TiviMate requires sideloading. Televizo can be installed directly through alternative Amazon-compatible stores or via Google Play on Android TV. Lower barrier to entry.

Canada — channel switching speed in Televizo is on par with TiviMate. I measured average channel load times and they are within 0.5 seconds of each other on the same hardware. Not a meaningful difference in real use.

Australia — Televizo's VOD interface is similar to TiviMate — functional but basic. For a better VOD experience you would still need OTT Navigator. If VOD browsing matters to you, neither Televizo nor TiviMate is the best option for that specific use case.

Recommendation for current TiviMate users: install Televizo alongside TiviMate (both can use the same subscription). Use TiviMate when you want the EPG and catch-up, use Televizo when you just want to flick through channels without the overhead. They are complementary rather than competing in daily use.
