Stability. Wi-Fi drops packets occasionally. In a video stream, dropped packets become buffering.

My MAG on Wi-Fi was constantly rebuffering. Switched to Ethernet and it's been smooth for months.

Even brief Wi-Fi interruptions cause noticeable stream degradation.

The same service that seemed unreliable on Wi-Fi became very reliable on Ethernet.

My MAG is in the living room, router in a different room. Powerline adapter to Ethernet is my solution.

Powerline adapters are a good middle ground when direct Ethernet isn't practical.

MoCA adapters (through coax cable) are even better than powerline if you have coax in the room.

I didn't know coax could carry network traffic. That's a good option.

MoCA over coax gives near-Ethernet reliability. Game-changer for living room setups.

If you must use Wi-Fi, at least use the 5GHz band and keep the MAG as close to the router as possible.
