LG WebOS streaming app freezes after 30 minutes — found the fix

It's the screen saver setting conflicting with the video player. Disable the LG screen saver.

I thought it was my ISP. It's actually the LG screen saver timer. Unbelievable.

Confirmed on my LG C2. Screen saver timer was set to 30 minutes. Disabled it and no more freezes.

Does disabling the screen saver affect energy saving features on LG?

Yes but minimally. LG enters a low-power state differently depending on model year.

I had this problem specifically with the 2021 LG models. The 2022 models seem fine.

The screen saver was also interfering with my downloads manager on LG. Two problems fixed.
