IBO Player uses a unique device-ID based activation system rather than username/password login. This system is different from Xtream Codes and M3U authentication used by other apps, which causes confusion for users switching from other players.
Unlike TiviMate or XCIPTV which use username + password, IBO Player authenticates using a Device ID — a unique code generated by the app for your specific installation. Your provider registers this Device ID in their system and links it to your subscription.
On Android / Android TV: Open IBO Player. The Device ID is displayed on the main launch screen prominently. It appears as a long alphanumeric code before you are logged in.
On Apple TV: The Device ID appears on the initial welcome screen under the IBO Player logo. It is displayed large and clearly.
On iOS: Launch the app. On the first screen before login, the Device ID is shown at the bottom of the screen.
Write down or photograph the Device ID — you will send this to your provider for activation.
If your provider confirms activation but the app still shows "Not Activated":
1. Ensure you sent the IBO Player Device ID, not your device's IMEI, MAC address, or Android ID. These are completely different. IBO Player's own Device ID is only found inside the IBO Player app.
2. Wait 10–15 minutes after the provider activates your account — there can be a propagation delay.
3. Close IBO Player completely and reopen. It checks activation on launch.
4. Restart the device and reopen IBO Player.
IBO Player generates a new Device ID when the app data is cleared or the app is reinstalled. If you reinstall or factory reset:
1. Note the new Device ID shown in the app.
2. Contact your provider with the new Device ID.
3. Ask them to transfer your activation from the old Device ID to the new one.
Most providers do this free of charge for existing subscribers. Include your old Device ID if you have it noted, as this speeds up the transfer.
If IBO Player shows "Account Expired" but your provider confirms an active subscription:
1. The activation server may be temporarily unreachable. Try again after 5–10 minutes.
2. If your IP address has changed significantly (moved house, new ISP), some providers lock accounts to IP ranges. Contact support to release the IP restriction.
3. Verify with your provider that the Device ID on file matches the one currently shown in your IBO Player app.
IBO Player on Apple TV has an excellent native tvOS interface that feels completely integrated with the Apple TV remote. However, App Store availability has occasionally been interrupted. Keep a note of when IBO Player becomes unavailable on the App Store — this can happen during Apple review cycles and is not related to your account or provider.
How IBO Player Activation Works
Unlike TiviMate or XCIPTV which use username + password, IBO Player authenticates using a Device ID — a unique code generated by the app for your specific installation. Your provider registers this Device ID in their system and links it to your subscription.
Finding Your Device ID
On Android / Android TV: Open IBO Player. The Device ID is displayed on the main launch screen prominently. It appears as a long alphanumeric code before you are logged in.
On Apple TV: The Device ID appears on the initial welcome screen under the IBO Player logo. It is displayed large and clearly.
On iOS: Launch the app. On the first screen before login, the Device ID is shown at the bottom of the screen.
Write down or photograph the Device ID — you will send this to your provider for activation.
Fix: Device Not Recognised After Sending ID
If your provider confirms activation but the app still shows "Not Activated":
1. Ensure you sent the IBO Player Device ID, not your device's IMEI, MAC address, or Android ID. These are completely different. IBO Player's own Device ID is only found inside the IBO Player app.
2. Wait 10–15 minutes after the provider activates your account — there can be a propagation delay.
3. Close IBO Player completely and reopen. It checks activation on launch.
4. Restart the device and reopen IBO Player.
Fix: Device ID Changed After Reinstall
IBO Player generates a new Device ID when the app data is cleared or the app is reinstalled. If you reinstall or factory reset:
1. Note the new Device ID shown in the app.
2. Contact your provider with the new Device ID.
3. Ask them to transfer your activation from the old Device ID to the new one.
Most providers do this free of charge for existing subscribers. Include your old Device ID if you have it noted, as this speeds up the transfer.
Fix: "Account Expired" Despite Valid Subscription
If IBO Player shows "Account Expired" but your provider confirms an active subscription:
1. The activation server may be temporarily unreachable. Try again after 5–10 minutes.
2. If your IP address has changed significantly (moved house, new ISP), some providers lock accounts to IP ranges. Contact support to release the IP restriction.
3. Verify with your provider that the Device ID on file matches the one currently shown in your IBO Player app.
