My MAG remote has become very unreliable — I press buttons and nothing happens, or there is a long delay. Sometimes it works fine for a few minutes then stops. Is this the remote or the MAG itself?

Ireland — Eir routers: go to 192.168.1.254 → Advanced → DNS. Note: some Eir routers use 192.168.0.1 instead. Try both if the first does not load.

Ireland — the fix that worked for me: in TiviMate, go to Settings → Player and enable "Use Codec Buffering". This introduces a small buffer that allows the app to synchronise audio and video before presenting it to you. Adds about 1 second to channel load time but eliminates the sync gap.

Post-trial confirmation with support is a nice validation step. Shows the service knows their infrastructure.

DNS fix resolving stream playback is a common pattern. ISPs occasionally block or redirect video CDN traffic and alternative DNS bypasses this.

MAG for non-technical family members is often the best recommendation. No app management, no updates to worry about.

I watch about 2-3 hours per evening. So roughly 60-90 hours of viewing with 5 brief events. That is well within acceptable range for me.

Before contacting support, try clearing the MAG browser cache: 1. Settings → Advanced Settings → Clear Cache. 2. Also clear the portal cache if that option is available. 3. Perform a full power cycle after clearing. If the loop started recently, a corrupted cache entry is a common cause.

Point 4 is critical. Many providers require MAC registration before the portal will work. Without this step you will get endless loading screens.

Green flag #3: Support proactively follows up after a fix. When a support agent closes a ticket and then sends a follow-up message the next day asking if the issue is fully resolved, it indicates they care about resolution quality. This is rare but when it happens, it signals genuine service...
