Fire TV Stick app crashes on launch — comprehensive troubleshooting

Which Fire Stick generation? The 2nd gen had a lot of memory issues.

3rd gen Fire Stick 4K here. Still crashes.

Try: Settings > Applications > Manage All Applications > [App] > Clear Cache then Force Stop.

Go to Settings > Device Options > Restart. Proper restart, not just off/on.

Good tip. Fire Stick doesn't fully restart when you just unplug it.

Also make sure Fire Stick is not in a hot environment. Thermal throttling causes crashes.

I had mine behind the TV in a tight space. Moved to HDMI extender and crashes stopped.

The HDMI extender is underrated advice. Heat was killing my device.

After factory reset the crashes stopped but I had to set everything up again.
