TiviMate showing a black screen or crashing on launch is a common issue. Here are the solutions I found.
 
Black screen on TiviMate launch is usually a compatibility issue between TiviMate version and Android TV version.
 
First try: clear TiviMate cache and data. Settings → Apps → TiviMate → Storage → Clear Cache, then Clear Data.
 
Warning: clearing data removes your playlists and settings. Note them down before clearing data.
 
If that does not help, uninstall TiviMate completely and reinstall the latest version.
 
The official TiviMate website has download links. Use the Downloader app to grab it directly.
 
Avoid third-party APK sites for TiviMate — they sometimes distribute modified or outdated versions.
 
If you use TiviMate Companion for phone control, ensure both apps are the same major version.
 
Large playlists (10,000+ channels) can exhaust memory on boxes with less than 2GB RAM.
 
Solution: reduce playlist size or enable progressive loading in TiviMate settings.
 
Some users report TiviMate crashes resolved by switching from Ethernet to Wi-Fi or vice versa.
 
My box had 2GB RAM and was crashing on a 15,000 channel playlist. Filtered it to 5,000 and stable.
