Portal shows "Loading" forever on MAG — troubleshooting steps

Starting this thread to share my experience and hear from others in the community. Happy to discuss in detail.
 
My MAG stays on the loading screen after I enter the portal URL. Nothing loads.
 
First: verify your network connection. Try other internet-dependent features on the MAG.
 
Then the portal URL itself needs checking. Even one wrong character will prevent loading.
 
I double-checked by entering it character by character. It matches exactly.
 
Then the issue is likely the MAG firmware or the portal's compatibility with your MAG model.
 
What MAG model are you using? Older MAG models have compatibility issues with newer portals.
 
Does the portal URL use http:// or https://? MAG 254 struggles with https in some firmware versions.
 
If the server still supports http, yes. Ask your provider for the http endpoint.
 
They provided an http URL and it loads immediately now. Thanks for the systematic approach!
