The background app refresh setting location varies by Android version and manufacturer.

That's buried so deep in the settings. No wonder people can't find it.

The unknown sources setting is per-app on newer Android versions. Look for it per-app not globally.

Also make sure Fire Stick is not in a hot environment. Thermal throttling causes crashes.
