IHCL announces new Taj hotel in Chennai

On April 19, The Indian Hotels Company Ltd. announced the signing of an agreement to build another Taj hotel as part of plans to expand its business in major regions across the country. With the addition of the new hotel, IHCL will have 13 properties in Chennai.

The proposed Taj Hotel, which would be built on 3.5 acres of land on the popular Nelson Manickam Road here, will have four restaurants and a bar, as well as 235 rooms and 123 Taj branded residences.

According to the company, the new development, which is under the management contract, will include branded homes as part of the hotel complex. The hotel's branded residences would benefit from Taj's service and access to the hotel's facilities.

Ampa Group's Managing Director, Ampa Palaniappan, expressed excitement at the opportunity to work with IHCL on the Taj hotel and branded residences.

The Ampa Group operates in a variety of industries, including banking, retail, real estate, hospitality, and information technology. The company owns the AMPA Skywalk, one of the city's first commercial complexes.
